This duet is an exploration of the tumultuous relationship between Stanley and Stella Kowalski in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire. With this couple, Williams created an iconic example of the cycle abuse that haunts all domestic violence victims. This dance is a portrait of Stella's slow realization of her abuse; the transformation of touch from supportive to manipulative, the conflict between love and lust and the pull of wanting to leave but needing to stay.​
